It is the first project we work with NGO. We are working with Book Wish Foundation (www.bookwish.org) to provide light in the refugee camp to support reading to improve education, mental health and occupational training. We will design a LED lighting system that will facilitate people in the camp to read and learn at night. The refugee camp does not have electricity supply and they need a light of low power consumption, durable light that use solar rechargeable batteries.
We started the contact with Book Wish Foundation in early 2009 and we provided some free samples for them to test in the refugee camp. After the field test and discussion with users in the camp, we decided to design a light to fit their needs because all of our existing products are not design to use in a refugee camp environment. We targeted to launch the product at below time line.
Initially all the funds involved in this project will be bear by our company and we are also planning a way to fund the continuous support of light to the refugee camp and hope there will be more people in the camp will be benefited from it.
